There's no set-in-stone etiquette rule on this, so the only thing we can do is offer our opinion. We believe that if you're a medical doctor, it would be totally appropriate to include that on your wedding invitations. This is a profession that many laborious years have gone into. We LOVE it when women accomplish great things and we think that it should be celebrated!
On the invitation, say something like, "Doctor Jennifer Smith and Mister Mike Brown request your presence at their wedding. Hopefully no one will be offended or intimated by this, because you will spend the rest of your life being referred to as "Doctor Jennifer."
