2. You have to spend a certain amount on the wedding.

In this day and age, there is a growing pressure to have the grandest, most extravagant, glamorous wedding to date. That is just not always the case! There are so many ways to have a gorgeous wedding without breaking the bank. One of the greatest suggestions we have is to find a venue that is as inclusive as possible. This truly cuts down on confusion and costs by ensuring everyone is on the same team, and everyone is working toward the same goal.

3. You cannot see each other before the wedding ceremony.

Thankfully, this one has begun to wither away. There are SO many positives to having a first look with your soon-to-be husband or wife. There is a preconceived notion that you won't have that special moment if you choose to see each other before the ceremony, but this isn't proving to be the case. In fact, many couples believe that the moments spent together in private before the ceremony began were much more tender and memorable than if they had shared that moment in front of their friends and family. A first look provides more time for the photographer to capture you and your spouse together, without the pressure to entertain your family and guests..

4. Your décor must be homemade or it won't be unique.

Recently Pinterest has turned into one of the most inspiring yet one of the most stressful DIY websites known to man. While we appreciate Pinterest and all of its admirable, inspiring qualities, sometimes so many wonderful ideas just aren't so wonderful! There is no need to worry with the hassle of creating your own centerpieces and decor for your big day: let us do it for you! Our centerpiece options are endless and with the help of our good friend John Mark Enterprises, you are welcome to add lively florals to whatever you please. Our decor is always seasonal and frequently changes. Part of what sets Heartwood Hall apart is our attention to detail. If you decided to not add a single thing to our already decorated barn and garden, you would already be taken care of!

5. Wedding food is boring.

Now let's be honest...we have all been to more than a few weddings where we have been served cheese cubes, coffee, and punch. While there's nothing wrong with this, it's definitely not the satisfying addition that will set your big day apart. Heartwood Hall's menu on the other hand is truly unique. The bride and groom's options are endless. We offer traditional dinner options, which could be the salad, meat, and sides of your choice. In addition to our traditional dinner menu, Heartwood Hall also offers dining stations. These stations are such a fun and unique way to showcase your favorite foods while giving enough variety to ensure no one will leave hungry.

While there are many other misconceptions that people can find themselves hung up on, these are just a few that Heartwood Hall has remedied. We count it a privilege to continue helping brides find solutions to the wedding myths that trouble them most!

Happy planning!
