Traditionally, June has been the most popular month to get married. But modern-day weddings have no limits to when they can take place! The most important thing is that you are marrying your best friend. The time doesn’t really matter, although each season has its perks. We love weddings in each season, and here’s why.

Spring Weddings

Who doesn’t love a spring wedding? Flowers are in bloom, and love is in the air! There are a number of reasons why springtime is great for a wedding.

Spring is for New Beginnings

Spring is a time of rebirth; winter is over and flowers are blooming. It is the perfect time to also start your new life together as a married couple.

Spring Colors

Pale spring colors are beautiful, and they will look great on your bridesmaids! Think pale pinks, yellows, and robins egg blue. There are a wide variety of pretty color palettes you can choose from that will go great with a spring wedding.

Potential Financial Incentives

If you have your wedding in early spring before peak wedding season starts, you can possibly get lower rates from some of your vendors. You will also likely be competing with fewer other weddings for dates if you have your big day in the early spring.

Comfortable Temperatures

Spring is known for its gorgeous weather. Spring is fantastic for having outdoor weddings or receptions. The weather is nice-not too hot and not too cold.

Beautiful Spring Flowers

Springtime brings tons of beautiful, new flowers. There are such a wide variety of flowers that are in season in spring that your bouquet options are almost endless. Also, if you have an outside wedding, you can position flowers everywhere, between your florist and landscaping at your venue. Don’t forget about fresh flower headbands or wreaths for your bridesmaids or flower girls!

Perfect Timing

Your wedding shouldn’t conflict with vacations or other trips, so you shouldn’t have too many guest conflicts. Also, most people’s PTO restarts in the new year, so your out-of-town guests shouldn’t have a problem with attending.

Summer Weddings

There is a reason why summer is the most popular time to have a wedding. From the warm weather to a wide option of flowers, outdoor venues, and food, summer presents a prime opportunity for beautiful weddings.

Large Number of Color Schemes

There are a ton of color schemes that go with a summer wedding. From bright colors to more subdued neutrals, the options are almost endless.

Seasonal Flowers

Getting flowers out of season can be quite expensive. By choosing flowers for your wedding that are in season, you will save money and still have a gorgeous bouquet and decorations. There are a very large number of flowers that are in season in summer, so you can mix and match to get the perfect floral arrangements.

More Dress Options

Since the weather is warm, you don’t have to worry about only wearing long sleeves. You have a wide range of options in fabric, cut, and more. With so many options out there, you won’t have a problem finding a dress that is both comfortable and beautiful.

Farm to Table Food

Farm to table is very popular right now. Everyone loves the idea of eating local. By having your wedding in the summer, you have the option to include a lot of delicious, locally grown fruits and vegetables in your menu. With food like cucumbers, tomatoes, squash, berries, and other crops being in abundance in the summer, you can create a menu that your guests will love.

Longer Days

Days are the longest in the summer. Not only does this give you plenty of time for photo opps, but you don’t have to worry about it getting dark and ending the party early. Since you don’t have to have the ceremony early to avoid the sun going down during it, the longer day gives you more time during the day to get ready and more time for your guests to arrive at your wedding.

Fall Weddings

Fall weddings can be absolutely gorgeous. Between the fall weather and natural backdrops, fall is a beautiful time for a wedding.

Perfect Weather

When you think of the fall, that crisp, fall weather comes to mind. This is perfect weather for a wedding, especially if you want to have an outdoor ceremony or reception. The humidity of summer (and mosquitoes!) is gone, and you are left with mild weather that is neither too hot nor too cold. There is usually less rain in the fall, so it’s less likely that you will have to deal with rain on your wedding day.

Beautiful Foliage

When the leaves start to change to shades of orange and yellow, this creates a naturally beautiful backdrop for a wedding. Not only will this save you money on your flower budget, but it makes for absolutely stunning pictures. Also, autumn flowers are beautiful. Work with your florist to create a look using fall flowers that will go perfectly with the natural color of the leaves.

Fall Food

Fall food is incredibly tasty!. You can incorporate traditional fall flavors into your menu, such as pumpkin, apple, root vegetables, warm fall spices, and more. You can make a statement with a memorable and personalized menu that is sure to impress your guests and leave people talking about how delicious your food was!

Fewer Guest Conflicts

By having your wedding in the fall, you should run into fewer conflicts with guests. Most people take their vacations in the summer, and you will also avoid end-of-the-year holidays. Flights also tend to be less expensive in the fall, so you might have fewer conflicts with your out-of-town guests who have to fly in.

Better Prices

Since fall is technically the “off-season” when it comes to weddings, you may be able to negotiate lower prices with some of your vendors. If you aren’t spending quite as much in some categories, you will be able to get some of those extras you might not have been able to get otherwise.

Winter Weddings

People may not think of winter weddings when they first start planning their big day, but there are many reasons why you should choose to have your wedding in the winter!

Venue Savings

Winter is an off-season for weddings. Like with the fall, some wedding vendors may discount their services for weddings held in the winter months. Because there aren’t quite as many weddings in the wintertime, vendors may also be more flexible.

No Humidity

Being in the South, humidity is a real thing. Your carefully styled hair and makeup will thank you for having your wedding in the winter. Your guests will also be much more comfortable due to the lack of humidity.

Less Stress

Because most winter weddings take place inside, you won’t have the stress about worrying about bad weather on your wedding day. The real risk of bad weather during winter is snow, which we LOVE in the South. Think of how amazing your pictures will look if you take a few outdoor pictures with beautiful white snow in the background.

Classic Decor

Think of rich colors, like reds, maroons, and greens. Winter white would also look beautiful mixed in with other winter colors. Another plus is that a lot of places will already be decorated for the holidays, so you can possibly save money on decor.

More Yes RSVPs

Because fewer people take vacations and travel during the winter, you are likely to have more people RSVP yes to your wedding. You also won’t be competing with as many other weddings as during the summer or spring.
